Lorman, Assistant /Associate Professor, Sports Management Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management, which may include sport marketing, sport finance, sport law, sport facility and event management, sport governance, sport analytics, and ethics in sport. Maintains a 12-credit hour teaching load per semester consistent with School of Business workload policy. Leads and supports program level efforts toward COSMA accreditation, including curriculum mapping, assurance of learning, and self study preparation. Builds and stewards industry partnerships with professional teams, athletic departments, conferences, and sport related organizations to expand internships, experiential learning, and student career placement. Advises undergraduate and graduate students on academic progress, internships, and pathways into the sport industry. Pursues scholarly productivity through refereed publications, conference presentations, and external funding. Participates in department, school, university, and professional service, including committee work, faculty governance, and program review. Contributes to recruitment, retention, marketing, and visibility of the Sport Management program. Supports School of Business strategic priorities, including ACBSP accreditation alignment, STEM MBA growth, and student success. Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean. Other related duties, as assigned. Minimum Education Earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or D.B.A.) in Sport Management, Sport Administration, Kinesiology with a sport management concentration, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the appointment start date. Minimum Experience College level teaching experience, or clear potential to teach effectively. A record of, or promise for, peer reviewed scholarship appropriate to the rank sought. Strong commitment to student success, mentorship, and inclusive classroom practices. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred: professional experience in the sport industry, such as athletics administration or event and facility management. Preferred: experience teaching within or building toward a COSMA accredited program. Licenses/Certifications None required. Relevant professional certifications in sport or facility management
