The Sport Management Department at SUNY Cortland invites applications for an on-campus tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

This is a generalist position designed to attract candidates with diverse professional backgrounds across sport management. Applicants are encouraged to identify their primary area(s) of expertise within their application materials. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:

As the oldest and largest sport management program in the SUNY system, the SUNY Cortland Sport Management Department offers a mission-driven, student-centered curriculum grounded in experiential learning, career-driven outcomes, and professional development. We place a high premium on preparing students for careers across the sport industry through applied coursework, internships, and active industry engagement.

We seek an enthusiastic candidate who thrives in a student-first environment where teaching, advising, and mentoring are central to faculty life. Candidates should bring an engaging pedagogical approach and a desire to actively support student success. While faculty in the department engage in impactful scholarship and service, meaningful interaction with students remains the cornerstone of our departmental culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passionate commitment to high-impact undergraduate and graduate education at a teaching institution.

Salary Range: $66,100 + depending on experience (DOE)
