Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment, kitchen laboratories, and spaces. Assist with inventory management and fulfilling of kitchen laboratory requisitions. Maintain approprate safety and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, kitchen laboratories, and spaces. Assist with the set-up, break-down, maintenance, and organization of kitchen laboratories and spaces. Document kitchen laboratory activities as required. Provide kitchen laboratory support to Culinary Arts faculty and students. Performing related duties as needed and as assigned by the Senior CLT Kitchen Manager and the Culinary Arts Program Director. CONTRACT TITLE Adjunct College Laboratory Technician FLSA Non-exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION The Kingsborough Culinary Arts Program is recognized for its leadership in Culinary Arts study and workforce training in the New York Metropolitan area. Kingsborough Community College is located in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, adjacent to Sheepshead Bay with a diverse student population. Working under the direction of the Senior CLT Kitchen Manager and Culinary Arts Program Director, the Adjunct College Laboratory Technician will assist and provide support with the daily operations and the kitchen laboratory functions of the Culinary Arts Program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substitute for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Qualifications: National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation for ServSafe Food Safety and NYC DOH Foodhandlers. Minimum of eight years of experience in food service purchasing, restaurant or catering management. Good interpersonal, communications, presentation, organizational and technical skills. Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications. American Culinary Federation (ACF) certification - CCE, CEC, CMC, CPC, CCA. A strong understanding of food and beverage productions with the ability to weight and measure accurately. Bachelor's Degree. COMPENSATION $35.39 per hour.
