Terms of Service

Rules that govern access to Scholardemia and the use of its services. The document is kept in the same Scholardemia console so it remains easy to compare, navigate and return to your account.

Welcome to Scholardemia.com. By creating an account, accessing, or using Scholardemia, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Scholardemia.com's relationship with you in relation to the website and application. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please refrain from using Scholardemia.

The term "Scholardemia.com" or "us" or "we" refers to the owner of the website, Scholardemia.com, whose registered office is 16 Holloway Lane, Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire OX29 0AU, United Kingdom. Our company registration number is 10531557. The term "you" refers to the user or viewer of our website.

The use of this website is subject to the following terms:

  1. General Information

    The content on this website is provided for general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.

  2. Your Account

    You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person or organization. You may delete your account at any time from your settings; deletion is described in our privacy policy.

  3. Cookies

    This website uses only strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, protect against request forgery, and manage beta access. The specific cookies we set are listed in our privacy policy. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

  4. Your Content

    You retain ownership of the content you create or upload — documents, posts, comments, manuscripts, reviews, media, and other material ("your content"). You grant Scholardemia.com a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content solely as needed to operate and provide the service, according to the visibility settings you choose. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained as described in our privacy policy or content you published that others have lawfully shared. You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload.

  5. Acceptable Use

    You must not use Scholardemia to:

    • post or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful;
    • infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
    • upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or infrastructure;
    • scrape, overload, or interfere with the operation of the service;
    • misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or credentials;
    • commit academic misconduct, including fabricating data or results, plagiarism, manipulating peer review, or attempting to unmask reviewers where a journal uses anonymized review.

    We may remove or restrict content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Unauthorized use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offense.

  6. AI Features

    Optional AI features send the content you submit to third-party AI providers, as described in our privacy policy. AI-generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on or publishing it. If you save your own provider API key, you are responsible for that key and for complying with the provider's terms. When you publish AI-generated or AI-assisted content, you are responsible for identifying or labelling it where required by law, journal policy, institutional policy, or platform rules.

  7. Payments, Refunds, and Cancellations

    A Premium or Teams & Labs trial or preview is available only when the product page or workspace states that it is open. A no-card trial or preview does not collect a payment method, does not renew automatically, and does not create an automatic charge. Premium trial access moves to the Free plan at expiry. Teams & Labs trial features end at the stated expiry; preview access may end when the approved preview closes. Content is not deleted solely because trial or preview access ends.

    If paid Premium or Teams & Labs subscriptions become available, the checkout will show the price, billing frequency, and any applicable taxes before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew for the same billing period until cancelled. You can cancel through the billing settings before the next renewal; access normally continues through the period already paid for. Failed payments may lead to a stated grace period and then loss of paid features. Any different refund or cancellation term shown at checkout will apply in addition to your statutory rights.

    Paid subscriptions, event registrations, and course purchases are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe and do not touch our servers. The price shown at checkout is inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise, and a receipt is provided for each completed purchase.

    • Events:refund availability for event registrations is set out on the event's page or by its organizer; approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
    • Courses: if you are a consumer, you may cancel a course purchase within 14 days for a full refund, provided you have not substantially accessed the course content. By starting the course within the cancellation period you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once you have substantially accessed it.

    Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

  8. Copyright Complaints and Content Reports

    We respect intellectual property rights and respond to copyright complaints and reports of unlawful content. To submit a complaint, email admin@scholardemia.com with the subject "Content complaint" and include:

    • identification of the work or right you believe is infringed;
    • the URL or location of the material on Scholardemia;
    • your name and contact information;
    • a statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law, and that the information in your notice is accurate; and
    • if you act on behalf of a rights owner, a statement that you are authorized to do so.

    We may remove or disable access to the material and will notify the user who posted it, who may submit a counter-notice. We may restore material where a valid counter-notice is received and the complainant does not pursue the matter. Accounts that repeatedly infringe will be terminated. This address also serves as our point of contact for reports under the EU Digital Services Act.

  15. Suspension and Termination

    We may suspend or terminate access to the service, or remove content, where these terms are violated, where required by law, or to protect the service and its users. Where reasonably possible we will tell you why. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

  16. Changes to These Terms

    We may update these terms from time to time. The current version and its date are always shown on this page, and we will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
