Copyright retention

Authors retain copyright in articles published by otstest.

By submitting and accepting publication, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, preserve, index, and identify the article as the version of record.

Published licence

Published scholarly articles are distributed under the licence stated on the journal's article pages, unless a figure, table, image, dataset, map, quotation, or other third-party item is separately marked with different rights information.

The licence should be visible on article pages and article files so readers can identify reuse terms at the point of use.

Third-party material

  • Authors are responsible for identifying material that they do not own.
  • Authors must obtain any permissions needed for third-party material before publication.
  • Third-party material may require separate credit lines, restrictions, or exclusion from the article licence.
