The Department of Marketing and Management in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management with a specialization in Sports Management.

This position contributes to undergraduate and graduate programs in Management while supporting the continued development of sports and event management curriculum. Key Job Responsibilities:

Maintain an active program of scholarship consistent with rank, including peer-reviewed publications and collaborative research with faculty and students.

Build and sustain partnerships with regional professional, collegiate, semi-professional, community sports, entertainment, and event organizations.

Participate fully in AACSB accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement activities.

Contribute to curriculum innovation and program development within the Cofrin School of Business.

Mentor students in the “transcripts to resumes” program.

Engage in institutional, community, and professional service.

Teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sports management, event management, and general management.

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Management, Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution by the end of the first academic year. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral, the title will change to Assistant Professor. The contract will not be renewed if the degree is not conferred by the end of the terminal appointment.

Demonstrated record of scholarly activity appropriate to career stage, including peer-reviewed publications.

Evidence of effective teaching.

Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, or professional service.

Conditions of Appointment:

The home campus of this position is Green Bay. Courses, including foundational business and management courses, will be taught in face-to-face, asynchronous online, and/or synchronous online formats.

Position is an academic year, tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years, although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity, and institutional service required for retention and promotion. A pre-employment education check which includes, but is not limited to, the verification of academic credentials will be conducted on the finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
