Courses can be free or paid; the choice is yours per course. Paid courses are sold through Stripe Checkout, so students pay on a secure hosted page and never hand their card details to Scholardemia.
Set a price
- Set the price and currency in the course editor before publishing. The price is shown on the course page and the catalogue card.
- A course with no price is free: students enrol in one click, which is often the right choice for building an audience or teaching within your own lab.
- Changing the price affects future enrolments only; each enrolment records what the student actually paid at the time.
How a sale works
When a student buys your course, they pay through Stripe Checkout and their enrolment is created automatically once the payment is confirmed. They receive a receipt by email, and you do not need to approve or process anything by hand. For how the money reaches you, see Stripe payouts for events & courses.
Track how it is going
Your teaching space keeps course-level figures: enrolments, revenue from paid sales, and completion. Open Teach → Analytics for the overview across your courses.
Paid content on Scholardemia is limited to courses and events. Journals on the platform are free in every respect, and authors are never charged to publish.
