Paid event registrations and paid course enrolments are both processed by Stripe through Scholardemia’s payments platform. This article explains what happens to a payment after a card is charged, and how the proceeds reach you as an organiser or instructor.
How payments are processed
- Buyers pay on Stripe Checkout, a hosted page; card details never touch Scholardemia.
- When Stripe confirms the payment, the event registration is marked as paid (or the course enrolment is created) and a receipt is emailed to the buyer.
- Every transaction is recorded against your event or course, so your dashboards show registrations, enrolments, and revenue without manual bookkeeping.
What organisers control
- Events: choose which payment methods an event accepts. Alongside Stripe card payments you can offer bank transfer (send registrants your payment details yourself, as they are not shown in-product) or record cash payment on the day.
- Courses: set the price and currency per course; see Price & sell a course.
- Event refunds run through the registration refund workflow, and the registrant is emailed the decision.
Receiving your proceeds
Card payments settle into the platform’s Stripe account first, which is what makes checkout instant for buyers with no payment setup on your side. Payout of your proceeds is then arranged with the Scholardemia team. Before your first paid event or course goes on sale, email support@scholardemia.com to agree where and how your proceeds should be paid out.
