Republic Polytechnic is seeking passionate and industry-experienced professionals to join the Diploma in Events & Project Management (DEPM). We are looking for individuals who are committed to developing future-ready graduates equipped with competencies in event management, project leadership, experience design, digital transformation, sustainability, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As a Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of event and project management professionals equipped with versatile strategic and operational competencies.
Your responsibilities extend beyond teaching to encompass nurturing students' potential, curriculum innovation, industry engagement, consultancy projects, and applied learning initiatives.
[What you will be working on]
Teaching and Learning
Facilitate learning for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education & Training (CET) programmes in areas such as:
Curriculum Development
• Design, develop and review curriculum, learning resources and assessments to ensure industry relevance and alignment with emerging workforce needs.
• Integrate industry practices, digital technologies and AI-enabled tools into teaching and learning.
• Develop authentic, industry-based learning experiences that enhance students’ employability and professional competencies.
• Contribute to the development of stackable credentials, professional certifications and lifelong learning programmes.
Industry Engagement and Applied Learning
• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with industry stakeholders, professional associations and government agencies.
• Initiate and manage industry projects, consultancy engagements and work-integrated learning opportunities.
• Mentor students participating in competitions, industry showcases and experiential learning activities.
• Facilitate industry visits, guest lectures and networking opportunities.
AI and Digital Innovation
• Champion the adoption of AI and emerging technologies within teaching, learning and industry projects.
• Guide students in the responsible and effective use of AI tools for project planning, event operations, marketing, content creation, stakeholder engagement and data analysis.
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, workflow automation, data analytics and digital experience platforms where relevant.
Student Development
• Mentor and support students in their academic, professional and personal development.
• Supervise internships, final-year projects and industry-based assignments.
• Foster the development of leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Professional and Institutional Contributions
• Contribute to consultancy, applied research and capability development initiatives.
• Design and deliver professional development programmes and customised training solutions for industry partners.
• Participate in school-wide and institution-wide projects, committees and strategic initiatives.
[What we are looking for]
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Events Management, Project Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications will be an advantage.
Industry Experience
• Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
o MICE and Business Events
o Conferences and Exhibitions
o Event Production and Live Events
o Project Management
o Customer Experience and Experience Design
o Event Technology and Digital Experiences
o Marketing and Communications
o Tourism and Destination Management
Professional Competencies
• Strong industry knowledge and practical experience in event and project management.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain industry partnerships.
• Passion for coaching, mentoring and developing youths and adult learners.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and committed to continuous learning.
AI and Digital Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate an interest in, and practical application of, technology and AI within professional settings. Experience in any of the following areas will be advantageous:
• AI-assisted productivity and collaboration tools
• Workflow automation platforms
• Digital marketing technologies
• Data analytics and visualisation tools
• Customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
• Event technology and engagement solutions
• Digital transformation initiatives
