[What the role is]
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join RP as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Hospitality. In this pivotal role which goes beyond teaching and facilitating learning, you will foster the aspirations of individual students and nurture their lifelong learning needs. Your dedication and expertise will contribute to shaping their educational journey and preparing them for future success. You are expected to conduct academic research by way of detailed observations, analyses findings, interpretation of results for potential applications and publish papers on the completed studies in peer-reviewed, well-respected journals and/or educational conferences.
[What you will be working on]
• Foster a nurturing environment for students through comprehensive pastoral care and offer guidance and support in their educational and career journeys.
• Develop and review module curriculum with engaging learning activities that align with the prescribed programme and module outcomes for both pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education and training (CET).
• Deliver lessons effectively through good class management and with efficacious outcomes.
• Supervise students in projects and other curricular activities.
• Conduct academic/action research projects to continuously develop and deepen competencies in teaching and learning.
• Undertake administrative duties and academic affairs related to a programme.

• Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, management, and writing skills.
• Demonstrate resourcefulness as a team player while exhibiting trustworthiness, independence, and a proactive work ethic.
• Strong conceptual thinking skills with an ability to problem solve and recommend solutions.
• Able to facilitate classroom discussions, adeptly mediate different opinions and evaluate reasoning.
• Able to introduce effective interventions by analysing students' results and performance.
• Preferably with academic research experience, publication, and successful funding/grant applications.
• Digital literacy (using information ethically and effectively), and the ability to collaborate and communicate using digital tools.
• AI literacy that includes AI fundamentals, data science, AI tools and automation, Natural Language Processing (NLP), AI ethics, and prompt engineering.
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably teaching subjects in any of the following areas:
> Hospitality Business Management
> Customer Experience Management
> Customer Journey Mapping and Analytics
