Once you have accepted an invitation, your review lives on the journal’s Reviews page. Read the manuscript through your reviewer copy, annotate as you go, then complete the review form when your assessment is ready.
Read & annotate
Your reviewer snapshot is a copy of the manuscript you can comment on without affecting the authors’ document. Highlight passages and leave comments exactly as you would in any Scholardemia document; they are saved with the snapshot and visible to the editorial team.
The review form
The submission dialog asks for:
- Summary, strengths, weaknesses, and actionable advice: four short structured assessments, all required.
- Comments to the author: feedback intended for the authors. Editors control when and how these are released.
- Confidential comments to the editor: anything the editors should know that the authors should not see.
- A recommendation: Accept, Minor revision, Major revision, or Reject. Recommendations go to the editors and are not sent to authors as-is.
- A conflict-of-interest declaration, confirming either no conflict or a disclosed one.
Some journals add scored criteria on a rating scale, or their own questions; these appear in the same form.
Submit
Check your text, then submit. The assignment is marked complete, the editors are notified, and the form locks; contact the editorial team if something needs correcting after submission. How your review feeds into the decision is described in Meta-review & editor decisions.
