Your visibility controls live in Settings → Privacy & Data. From there you set a general fallback for your profile and open the detailed privacy dialog for finer control.
Profile visibility
The main visibility setting is the fallback for your detailed profile tabs. Your heading and featured work remain externally visible, so colleagues can still find and identify you; the setting governs how much of the rest a visitor sees by default.
Fine-grained controls
The detailed privacy dialog lets you decide, item by item, what appears and who can reach you:
- Contact and reach: who can chat with you, and whether your email, phone, location, and institution are shown.
- Profile details: your avatar, about summary, research identity, professional history, website, and external links.
- Profile tabs: individual visibility for overview, about, calendar, publications, citations, events, courses, and your connections lists.
- Discovery: whether you appear in internal search, in colleague suggestions, and whether search engines may index your profile.
- Activity: how visible your activity on the platform is.
Changes take effect straight away. A quick way to check the result is to open your profile in a private browser window, where you are signed out.
Beyond your profile
Content you create has its own audience controls where you create it, for example when sharing a document or publishing a dataset. The same settings page also holds your data export and, in the danger zone, account deletion.
