Scholardemia documents are collaborative by default. Once a document is shared, everyone with access can open it at the same time and see each other’s changes as they are typed; there is no locking and no need to take turns.
Who is here right now
The editor header shows the avatars of everyone currently in the document. When more people join than fit, the stack collapses to a count. Hover an avatar to see the person’s name.
Live cursors & simultaneous edits
You can see other collaborators’ cursors move through the text as they work. Simultaneous edits are merged automatically, character by character, even when two people type in the same paragraph; nobody’s changes are discarded.
What each person can do is set by their role: editors change the text directly, commenters and reviewers discuss it, and viewers read along. See Share a document & set permissions.
Saving & the status indicator
You never need to save manually. The status indicator in the editor tells you where things stand:
- Saved: your latest changes are stored, with the time of the last save.
- Saving or Unsaved changes: a save is in progress or queued; just keep writing.
- Offline: your connection dropped. Changes are kept safely on this device and sync when you are back online.
