Link your ORCID iD

2 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Integrations & connected apps

Your ORCID iD is the persistent identifier that ties your work to you across publishers and platforms. Linking it to Scholardemia verifies that the iD is yours and lets you pull your ORCID record into your profile instead of retyping it.

Link your iD

  1. Open your profile settings

Go to Settings → Profile and find the academic identity section, where ORCID is listed alongside your other scholarly identifiers.

  2. Connect with ORCID

Choose to connect and you are sent to orcid.org to sign in and authorise Scholardemia. Signing in at ORCID is what verifies the iD as yours; you can also type an iD in manually, but it will not carry the verified mark.

What syncing brings in

  • Publications from your ORCID record are added to your profile; works you already list are updated rather than duplicated.
  • Employment and education history from ORCID is merged into your profile about section.
  • Run the sync again from the same settings section whenever your ORCID record changes; it only fetches what is new.

Syncing reads from ORCID into Scholardemia. It does not write anything back to your ORCID record.

Change or remove the link

You can disconnect ORCID from the same academic identity section at any time. Publications and history already imported stay on your profile; they simply stop updating from ORCID. Questions about a mismatched or duplicate iD? Email support@scholardemia.com.
