If your journal already has years of issues in Open Journal Systems (OJS), you do not have to leave them behind. The migration desk in your workspace settings brings the archive across from an existing OJS installation, so the journal can keep serving its readers without a gap.
What comes across
- Issues, with their numbering, titles, and cover images.
- Published articles and their files (galleys), including PDFs.
- Article metadata: authors and affiliations, abstracts, keywords, references, and page numbers, which can also be re-synchronised later if it changes.
- Historical identifiers are kept as provenance, so old links can be redirected to the new article pages rather than breaking.
How a migration runs
Migration is self-service: open the migration desk in your workspace settings and paste your OJS installation’s address. Adding a Manager API token is optional and lets the import fetch more detail, or you can upload an OJS Native XML export instead. Nothing needs to be installed on the OJS side. Once the import runs, back-issues appear in the journal’s issues archive alongside anything published natively; see Manage issues & publication schedule.
