Submit an article to a journal

4 min readUpdated 9 July 2026Journals & publishing

Every journal on Scholardemia accepts submissions through the same flow, so once you have submitted to one journal you will recognise the process everywhere. You will need a manuscript (written in the Scholardemia editor or prepared as a file) and about ten minutes.

Submitting is always free. Scholardemia journals never charge article processing fees: not at submission, not at acceptance, not at publication. Read our no-APC policy.

Before you start

  • Check the journal’s scope and author guidelines on its site; most desk rejections are scope mismatches.
  • Have your co-authors’ names and affiliations ready so they can be credited correctly.
  • If the journal has an open call for papers, mention the call in your submission and keep its deadlines in mind.

Submitting your manuscript

  1. Open the journal and choose Submit

From the journal’s site, follow its submission link. If you are not signed in you will be asked to sign in first, since the submission belongs to your account.

  2. Attach your manuscript

Pick a document from your workspace or upload a prepared file. Documents written in the Scholardemia editor keep their citations and figures intact through review.

Tip: submitting a workspace document lets you respond to revision requests without re-uploading.

  3. Complete the submission form

Title, abstract, keywords, and authors. Anyone already on Scholardemia is linked to their profile; anyone else is recorded by name.

  4. Review and submit

Check the summary and confirm. The article then appears in your submissions with the status Submitted, and the editorial team is notified.

What happens next

The editorial team checks your submission against the journal’s scope, then either assigns it to reviewers or returns it with comments. You will be notified when the status changes; each status is explained in Track your submission status.
