File upload limits & supported types

2 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Privacy, accessibility & data

Files upload directly from your browser to Scholardemia’s storage, so large files do not have to pass through the app itself. What you can upload depends on where you are uploading it.

Supported file types

  • Images: JPG, PNG, and WebP wherever images are accepted, such as photos, covers, and figures.
  • Video: uploaded through the course video flow when building lessons.
  • Attachments, for example on documents and pages, accept audio, PDFs, office documents, datasets, and archives.

If a surface does not accept a particular type, the uploader says so straight away rather than failing part-way through.

Size limits and quotas

Each upload has a maximum file size that varies by upload type; display images, for instance, are allowed a larger source size than ordinary attachments. When a file is too big, the error message states the exact maximum for that upload, so you know what to aim for. Accounts also have an overall storage quota and a fair-use limit on how many uploads can start per minute.

When an upload fails

  1. Check the error message; size and type problems are reported explicitly.
  2. For large media, try compressing the file or exporting it at a lower resolution.
  3. If the upload stalls with no clear error, check your connection and try again; an interrupted upload can simply be restarted.
Hitting your storage quota, or need a larger limit for a legitimate research file? Email support@scholardemia.com and include what you are trying to upload and where.

Still stuck? Talk to a person.

Our support team reads every message. Include what you were doing, any error message, and a screenshot if you have one; it usually saves a round-trip.
