Track your submission status

3 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Journals & publishing

Every submission has a status page that shows where your manuscript is in the journal’s workflow, what has already happened, and whether anything is waiting on you. You are notified of decisions and revision requests; the status page covers the rest.

Where to find your submissions

Open the journal’s site and go to its Submissions section while signed in. Each of your submissions links to a status page with the current stage, a timeline of received versions, and any decision letters. The timeline records events such as Initial submission received and Revision received, so you can always see what the journal has on file.

What each status means

  • With editors: the editorial team is checking your manuscript, or a revision you sent has been received and is being checked before the next step.
  • Under review: reviewers are reading the manuscript. The journal will contact you when the editors have a decision or a request.
  • Revision requested: the editors want changes before going further. See Respond to a revision request.
  • Decision: accepted or Decision recorded: an editorial decision has been made; the decision letter has the details.
  • In production: an accepted manuscript is being prepared for publication (copyediting and proofing). At some points the journal will ask you to review a copyedited version or approve a proof.
  • Published: your article is live, and the article links are available from the status page.

When action is needed from you

The status page flags clearly when the journal is waiting on you: submitting a revised manuscript, reviewing a copyedit, or approving a proof. If nothing is flagged, the next move belongs to the editorial team.

How long will it take?Timelines are set by each journal’s editors, not by Scholardemia. If a stage seems stalled, ask the editorial team through the journal’s contact page; see Contact a journal.
