Instead of pasting bare links, you can drop rich cards into a conversation. A card shows the item’s title and key details, and takes the reader straight to it. Ten kinds of item can be shared this way: documents, projects, tasks, events, publications, datasets, charts, courses, journals, and jobs.
Three ways to share
- Share to chat from the item. Pages for documents, projects, events, datasets, and charts have a Share to chat option. Pick one or more conversations, add an optional note, and send.
- Paste a link. Paste a Scholardemia link to a document, project, task, event, publication, dataset, chart, or course into the composer and it turns into a card automatically. If you would rather keep the plain URL, choose Keep as text.
- Link an item from the composer. The attach menu in the composer has a Link an item option that searches across all ten item types by name, so you can share something without leaving the conversation.
Cards respect access
Sharing a card does not grant access to the item. Each recipient sees the card’s details only if they can already see the item itself; otherwise the card appears restricted. To let someone read a document you are discussing, share the document with them first, then drop the card into chat.
Tip for project chatter. Sharing a task card is often clearer than describing it: the card links straight to the task on the board, so nobody has to hunt for it.
