Messaging lives in two places: the floating Messages launcher in the bottom-right corner of the screen, for quick replies wherever you are, and the full inbox, where you start new conversations and manage everything in one view.
The Messages launcher
The round Messages button opens a compact panel with your conversations, an unread badge, and filter tabs for All, Direct, Groups, and Unread. The search box at the top narrows the list by name or the latest message. Pick a conversation to read and reply without leaving the page you are on.
Start a new conversation
Open your inbox
Go to Inbox and choose the new conversation option.
Choose Direct or Group
For a direct message, search for the person by name. For a group, add at least two other people and give the group a name.
Write your first message
Send text, files, photos, or rich cards for documents, events, and other items. Messaging the same person again reuses your existing direct conversation rather than creating a duplicate.
Some people limit who can message them in their privacy settings, so occasionally a person cannot be added until they adjust that or you connect first.
Groups, roles & muting
- Roles: the creator is the owner; owners can promote admins, transfer ownership, and remove members. Members can leave at any time.
- Adding people: participants can add more people to a group as it grows.
- Muting: silence a busy conversation for 8 hours, a week, or until you unmute. You still receive the messages, just without notifications.
