Accessibility features

2 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Privacy, accessibility & data

Scholardemia’s accessibility preferences live in Settings → Appearance, under theme and accessibility. They apply across the whole app and follow your account, so they travel with you between devices.

Text and spacing

  • Text size: four steps from small to extra large.
  • Font style: the default face, a sans or serif alternative, or a dyslexia-friendly typeface.
  • Line height and letter spacing: loosen or tighten text layout for easier reading.

Colour and contrast

A high-contrast mode strengthens the difference between text and background, dark mode is available throughout, and three colour-vision modes adjust the palette for deuteranopia, protanopia, and tritanopia.

Motion, focus, and content

  • Reduce motion and disable animations: calm or remove movement in the interface.
  • Highlight focus: make the keyboard focus indicator more prominent.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: switch app shortcuts on or off.
  • Content preferences: show image descriptions and control whether videos autoplay.
A live preview in the preferences dialog shows the effect of your text choices before you save. Accessibility work is ongoing; if something is hard to use with your setup, tell us at support@scholardemia.com and we will treat it as a bug.
