Calls for submissions

Conference events can collect abstracts and papers and route them through peer review, so the whole path from call to accepted programme lives in one place. Submissions are a conference feature; other event types register attendees without soliciting work.

Setting up the call

Enable Accept Submissionsin the event’s review settings, either in the creation wizard or later from the admin console. You can configure:

  • Submission types: abstract, full paper, poster, or workshop proposal.
  • Deadlines: one for submissions and one for reviews. Authors can edit their work until review closes.
  • Guidelines: formatting requirements, word limits, or review criteria shown to authors.
  • Blind review: hide author details from reviewers, with a per-case override for administrators.
  • Reviewers per submission, plus optional categories, structured submission templates with custom fields, and scoring rubrics.

What authors do

Authors submit from the event’s submissions page. An abstract is written directly in the form, with a title, keywords, the abstract body, and an author list with names, institutions, and emails; a full paper is uploaded as a PDF. Some conferences open full papers only after abstract acceptance. Authors can invite collaborators by email, submit revisions with version history, and withdraw a submission if needed, and they follow status changes from their submissions dashboard.

Review and decisions

  • Organisers assign reviewers by email, one at a time or with automatic matching that suggests the best available reviewer and skips conflicts of interest.
  • Reviewers accept or decline each assignment, then score the work, either against your rubric or on default criteria such as originality, significance, clarity, and methodology, and give a recommendation: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
  • A private reviewer discussion space lets reviewers coordinate before decisions.
  • Organisers apply the outcome per submission: under review, request revision, accept, or reject. Authors are notified when the status changes.
