Events on Scholardemia range from a one-hour seminar to a multi-day conference with paid registration, submissions, and peer review. Everything starts with the event creation wizard, which saves as you go, so you can set up an event in one sitting or return to a draft later.
Before you start
- Choose an event type: conference, workshop, seminar, webinar, training, meeting, social event, or exhibition. Only conferences include a call for submissions with peer review.
- Choose a format: in-person, online, or hybrid. The format decides which details the wizard asks for, such as a venue or a streaming link.
- Decide who the event belongs to. Events created from a lab or workspace appear on that workspace’s public site as well as the global events list; workspace owners, admins, and editors can create them.
Working through the wizard
Open Create an event and work through the steps in order. Each step saves independently.
Basic information
Title, event type, format, tags, a rich-text description, and a short summary. The URL slug is generated from the title. You can also start from a template.
Dates, times & location
Start date and timezone are required; leave the end date blank for a single-day event. In-person and hybrid events take a venue name and address; online and hybrid events take a streaming or meeting link.
Registration, pricing & programme
Set capacity, a registration deadline, manual approval, a waitlist, and custom registration questions. Turn on the paid-event toggle to define ticket tiers, and sketch initial sessions if you already know the schedule.
Review settings and publish
For conferences, enable submissions and set deadlines and review options. On the final step, choose Publish Event to make the event visible to attendees, or Save Draft to keep working privately.
After publishing
Manage a published event from its admin console, reached from the event page. The console gathers everything in one place: participants, waitlist, check-ins, credentials, programme, submissions and reviews, communications, invitations, payments, discounts, integrations, analytics, and event setup. You can also customise the public event page with the page editor from Event Setup.
