Registration & ticket types

3 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Events & conferences

Registration is how attendees claim a place at your event. It can be free or paid, open or approval-based, and as simple or as structured as you need. Attendees register from the event page while signed in to their Scholardemia account.

Ticket types & pricing

Turn on the paid-event toggle in the pricing step to define ticket tiers. Each tier has a name you choose (for example, a student rate or a member rate), a description, a price, and a currency, so your categories match your community rather than a fixed list.

  • Early-bird pricing: give a tier a reduced price until a date you set; the discount is applied automatically while it is active.
  • Sales windows: tiers can record their own sales start and end dates; automatic enforcement of these dates at registration is coming soon.
  • Free events: leave the paid toggle off, or price a tier at zero, and registration completes without any payment step.

Registration settings

  • Capacity caps total registrations for the event. When the event is full, new registrations are declined, or offered the waitlist if you have enabled one.
  • Registration deadline closes registration automatically, and you can pause registration at any time.
  • Manual approval holds each registration as pending until you approve it; see Waitlists & approval.
  • Custom questions collect anything else you need, with optional help text. Required questions must be answered before registration completes.

Group registration

A group leader can register several people at once by entering each attendee’s name, email, and ticket choice. Groups need at least two attendees, every member must already have a Scholardemia account under the email given, and the group only completes if enough places remain. Each member receives their own ticket number and confirmation, and each member can cancel their own place from their attendee dashboard.

After registering

Attendees receive a confirmation with the event details and their ticket number, and can follow everything from the event’s attendee dashboard, including their event pass for check-in. If plans change, attendees can cancel their own registration up to the registration deadline (or the event start), giving a short reason; paid cancellations raise a refund request automatically.
