Add publications to your profile

2 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Profile, presence & badges

Your publication record is what most visitors come to a profile to see. Publications are managed directly on the Publications tab of your own profile page, either entry by entry or imported in bulk from ORCID.

Add a publication by hand

  1. Open your Publications tab

Visit your own profile and switch to the Publications tab. As the owner you see an Add publication control that visitors do not.

  2. Fill in the details

The dialog takes a title, type (journal article, book, book chapter, or other), authors, year, journal, DOI, link, and abstract. Only the title is essential; the more you add, the easier the work is to find.

  3. Save, then edit any time

Saved entries appear immediately, and you can edit or remove each one later from the same tab.

Import from ORCID

If your ORCID record already lists your works, use Import from ORCID on the Publications tab instead of retyping them. The import fetches the works on your ORCID record and merges them into your profile, reporting how many were added, updated, or skipped. You need a connected ORCID iD first; see Link your ORCID iD.

Profile publications vs the Publications hub

The Publications area in the main navigation is a browse directory of the journals, issues, and articles published on Scholardemia. It is separate from your personal list: work you publish through a Scholardemia journal appears there through the journal, while the list on your profile is entirely under your own control.
