Complete your researcher profile

3 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Profile, presence & badges

Your public profile lives at scholardemia.com/u/your-username and is often the first thing a colleague, reviewer, or editor sees. Everything on it is edited from Settings → Profile, and a completion checklist on that tab shows what is still missing.

Fill in the basics

  1. Open the profile editor

Go to Settings → Profile and select Edit in the Edit Profile section.

  2. Add your identity details

The dialog covers your cover image, profile photo, basic info (full name, headline, professional title, institution, department or lab), location, bio, and external links such as your website or portfolio.

  3. Preview the result

Use Preview public profile to see your page exactly as a visitor would.

Professional history

Further down the Profile tab, the Professional History section holds structured entries that appear on your profile’s About tab:

  • a career timeline of roles and organisations,
  • your education history,
  • achievements and recognitions.

Each entry can carry a role, organisation, department or lab, dates, location, and a short narrative summary.

Research profiles & keywords

The Research profiles & keywords section is where you connect your ORCID iD, Scopus ID, and Google Scholar profile, and add up to 12 research keywords. Keywords do double duty: they tell visitors what you work on, and they seed the Topics feed on your home page. Connecting Google Scholar also unlocks the citation metrics shown on your profile; see Scholar metrics on your profile.

What visitors see

A finished profile shows your photo, affiliation, badges, and follower counts in the header, with tabs for Overview, About, Publications, Citations, Events, and Courses. Reaching 100% on the completion checklist also earns the Profile Complete badge.

Who can see each part of your profile is controlled from Settings → Privacy & Data, including whether search engines may index the page.
