Badges recognise milestones as you build your presence on Scholardemia. They are awarded automatically; there is nothing to apply for. Your collection lives at Badges, where you also choose which ones to feature on your profile.
How badges are awarded
Each badge has a clear condition, and the platform checks your progress as you act: verifying your email, connecting ORCID, following a colleague, or publishing a post can each trigger an award. When you earn one, a notification appears and the badge is added to your collection. Badges are never taken away.
The badge families
- Profile: verifying your email and phone, uploading a photo, writing a substantial bio, and reaching 100% on the profile completion checklist.
- Academic: connecting a verified ORCID iD, listing five or more research interests, and verifying multiple academic identifiers.
- Social: following your first scholar, and reaching 10 and then 50 followers of your own.
- Engagement: your first post, ten posts, and five comments.
Badges come in three rarities (common, rare, and epic), and the Badges page shows both your earned set and everything still locked, so you can see what each one takes.
Feature badges on your profile
From the Badges page, select up to three earned badges to feature. They appear in the Featured badges card on your profile, and visitors can open your full collection from there.
