Write a post

3 min readUpdated 10 July 2026Feed, discovery & careers

Posts are how you share updates, questions, and work in progress with the community. The composer lives at the top of your home feed.

Write and publish

  1. Start writing

Open the composer on your home feed and write your update. Pasting a link adds a preview card automatically.

  2. Add media if you want it

The toolbar lets you add images, attach a PDF, embed a video by pasting a YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook link, or create a poll. A post can carry up to four files (images, PDFs, video, or audio).

  3. Choose who can see it

Pick a visibility before posting: Public, Followers, or Only me.

Tags, mentions & polls

  • Write #hashtags anywhere in the text to tag your post with up to five topics; tagged posts reach people who follow those topics.
  • Mention a colleague with @username and they are notified.
  • Polls take a question and two to five options, and run for one, three, or seven days.

After you post

Readers can like, comment, repost, or quote your post with their own commentary, and share it into a chat conversation. You are notified when they do. From your own post’s menu you can edit it or delete it, with a brief undo after deletion.

Your first post earns the First Post badge, and steady posting unlocks more. See Earning badges.
