Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to signing in: alongside your password, you enter a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot get into your account without your device.
What you need
An authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy. Any app that supports time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) works.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Open your security settings
Go to Settings → Account and find the two-factor authentication section.
Pair your authenticator app
Start setup and scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the setup key manually if you cannot scan.
Confirm with a code
Enter the six-digit code your app shows to prove the pairing worked. From now on, sign-in asks for a current code after your password.
Store your recovery codes
Save the recovery codes somewhere safe (a password manager is ideal). They are the only way back into your account if you lose your phone. See Backup & recovery codes.
If a code is rejected
Codes are time-based, so a phone clock that has drifted even slightly produces codes Scholardemia cannot accept. Check that your phone’s time is set automatically, and that you are reading the code from the Scholardemia entry in your app. If you are locked out entirely, use a recovery code at sign-in.
