Everything starts at /sign-in. There are several ways to prove it is you, and they all lead to the same account.
Ways to sign in
- Email and password: the default. Tick Remember me for 30 days to stay signed in on a device you trust, and leave it unticked on shared machines.
- Social providers: the sign-in page shows buttons for providers such as Google, and you can continue with whichever one matches the account you signed up with.
- ORCID: this returns only to an account that already has that exact ORCID provider identity attached as a sign-in method. It cannot create a new account or stand in for email verification. Connect your scholarly record from profile settings after verifying your Scholardemia account.
If your account has two-factor authentication enabled, you are asked for a code from your authenticator app (or a backup code) after the first step, whichever option you used. You can also choose to trust the device for 30 days at that point.
Which should you use?
Whichever you will not lose. If you signed up with a social provider, keep using it; mixing methods on the same email address is fine, but a password plus two-factor authentication is the most portable combination. Forgotten your password? Start at /forgot-password.
